What Mission Teams Do In Haiti
In Team Ministry, there are four base project groups we use to carry out the ministry on the field; mobile medical clinics, Bible School for children, construction projects, and Haiti Relief.
Through these four ministries, we are able to address immediate and long-term needs. We are able to better the lives of the Haitian poeple through projects which benefit the church and community. And, we are able reach countless children and their families for Christ through the open presentation of the Gospel.
Mobile Medical Clinics
Mobile medical clinics are held in churches, homes, or existing facilities. Stations are set up to receive patients. Each station has a medical professional, an assistant and an interpreter. Ailments can vary from headaches and minor injuries to malnutrition and its related diseases. A pharmacy will be set up to dispense medicines. On average, the clinic will see 150 to 200 people a day.
Bible School For Children
Bible School is one of the best ways to share the Gospel with children. Bible School is four to six days long. The format will include singing, a story time, coloring or art project, and refreshments. The children are captivated by each lesson and activity. This intense interest opens the door to their hearts.
Construction Projects
Teams are involved in projects that serve the church and the community. The project on which the group will work will be determined before hand. It may be a school, clinic or church. All work, such as mixing and pouring cement, is done by hand. Haitian workers will assist the mission team.
Haiti Relief
Through difficuly times, the Haitian people need help to make it to the next day. Haiti Relief provides the help families need when disaster strikes or when times get tough. This new ministry of Mission To Haiti has already distributed thousands of pounds of beans and rice to needy families. The team has provided facilities for better sanitation, and looks to provide services that will ease the burden of a difficult life in Haiti.
